Built and launched in 1997 by Norcat Gold Coast to USL Class 2C and used as a charter vessel for fishing and tours out of Cairns until 2007. Then she was worked out of Gove until 2010 when she was hardstanded until the current owners bought her in March 2020. Whilst on the hardstand she had her starboard cylinder heads and gaskets replaced along with the injectors and a new turbo.
From March 2020 until the relaunch the Arafura II on the 3rd of January 2022, the current owners carried out upgrades and refurbishments as listed below in Gove and Townsville.
Port engine has had the coolers cleaned and gaskets replaced, The intake and exhaust gasket have been replaced along with the oil filter housing gaskets and rocker cover gaskets. The thermostat and all drive belts were replaced. The sea water pump was resealed and the impeller and pick up hose replaced. The turbo and sea water cooled exhaust elbow was also replaced along with the exhaust hose. The engine oil and filters were replaced and the coolant was also replaced at 170 Hrs (Flowscan gauge hours) The transmission oil was also replaced and the cooler hoses replaced.
Starboard engine has had the turbo, heads and injectors replaced and coolers cleaned, before the current owners purchased but had not run until we purchased. They then resealed the sea water pump and the impeller and pick up hose replaced. The drive belts and thermostat were also replaced. The engine oil and filters were replaced and the coolant was also replaced at 177 Hrs (Flowscan gauge hours) The transmission oil was also replaced and the cooler hoses replaced.
The engine driven sea water pump on the starboard side was also resealed and impeller replaced with new drive belts.
The Port and Starboard engine isolators have been replaced along with the house circuit breakers.
The Port and Starboard batteries have been replace on the 30th May 2022.
They have moved the Cat battery (Starboard start battery) which was purchased 12th June 2020
The majority of the electronic upgrades was carried out in the last month and a half of 2021, as listed below.
